This morning I took my first "loaded test run" on my touring bike. I didn't haul camping gear and clothes, instead I hauled reams of paper and my Business Law book to simulate having a loaded bike. 20-25 pounds of weight is what I had on the bike.
It was a lot of fun, 3 hours of riding, about 37 miles covered and it was probably about 37 degrees:P
I started from my dorm, but caught the Katy Trail at Frontier Park in Saint Charles. The 3 miles from Frontier Park until the Park Avenue Bridge were pretty brutal. Most of it was very damp and moist and the tires sank in very easily. This made it for a slow few miles and everything that the fenders didn't catch, got covered in mud.

Stopped to air up the rear tire about 2 miles out of Saint Charles when I was heading East.
